Acadian Flag Raising
Thu. July 28, 2005 - Boston City Hall
In observance of the first annual "Day of Commemoration of the Great Upheaval" as set forth in Queen Elizabeth's 2003 proclamation, The Acadian Cultural Society hosted a flag raising ceremony at Boston City Hall in Boston, MA on Thursday July 28, 2005.In addition to the many Acadians throughout New England who attended, special guests included Michel Tetu, Acting Consulate General of Canada in Boston and guest speaker Lucie Leblanc Consentino, Acadian genealogist and historian. All enjoyed the ceremony and singing, while remembering this sad event in our history.
