Daigle dit Lallemand Association Depuis 1995, Jean-Pierre Daigle s’intéresse à l’histoire de notre ancêtre et de ses descendants. Il a passé en revue la majorité des registres paroissiaux des mariages et en a fait une compilation informatisée. Il s’est surtout penché sur la vie de notre ancêtre. Il avait le sentiment que le jugement (pauvre comme Job ayant vécu dans des conditions de vie misérables) porté par les 2 historiens qui ont fait des recherches de fond sur Jean était basé sur trop peu de documents, en fait, sur un seul, l’inventaire des biens 4 années après son décès. Et de fil en aiguille, il a pu enfin découvrir tous les documents manquant du casse-tête : Jean Daigle dit Lallemand était à l’image de ses contemporains, ni plus ni moins. |

Deportation Ships; Names of seven ships used during Acadian Deportation In 1785, Spain paid for 7 ships to transport Acadians to settle in Louisiana. For Spain, it meant settlers to buffer the zone between Spanish land and the British land. I want to thank them all for their help. DOUCET (or DOUCETTE) is a French name. There are two theories about the origin of this name. 1. The more exciting theory: Doucet originates from the Gaul noun DUCA (Duce): General of a garrison. 2. The diminutive of the French Doux refering to a gentle character, like in Ledoux. I personally think the second theory is more close to reality. |
