Acadian Artist Named Program Director of the CMA 2014

Well-known Acadian artist, Marc Beaulieu, has been named Program Director of the next World Acadian Congress in 2014. Born in St-Basile, New-Brunswick, Beaulieu has spent more than thirty years in the musical industry and has worked with such artists as Roch Voisine, Zachary Richard, Édith Butler, Isabelle Boulay and Danny Boudreau in Acadie, in Québec and around the world.

The President of the Organizing Committee of the 2014 World Acadian Congress, Émilien Nadeau, is delighted by this choice : “Marc Beaulieu is from the Acadia of the Land and Forests region and is coming home to make an important contribution to his birthplace. He is also very familiar with the event since he was involved in the 1994 and 2004 CMAs.”

Marc Beaulieu who officially started the job on January 1st 2012 did not waste any time: “I am calling on all artists, artisans and all people interested in creating our vision for an Acadia of the World to join us and make this gathering a world event, an ode to our pride and our hope for the future, a message of peace and harmony and a commitment to cooperation and respect” he said.

As Program Director Marc Beaulieu becomes responsible for all the various events of the CMA, 2014 such as all conferences, theme days and concerts. For now, the position is part-time but will become full-time as the congress approaches.
